The Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy Panthers got goals from Brooks Judd and Joseph Nicklay as they defeated the Sun Valley Community School Cutthroats 2-0 in an Idaho Class 4A state boys soccer semifinal contest on Friday at Owyhee High School in Meridian.

Going into the game, Cutthroats sophomore defender Quinn Parmenter felt like whoever scored first would dictate the tenor of the game. After the teams were scoreless throughout most of the first half, Judd found the back of the net in the 35th minute.

“They scored first, got that momentum going and put a second one in,” Parmenter said. “They held off our offense the entire game.”

The Panthers scored early in the second half as Nicklay weaved in-between Cutthroats defenders to find the back of the net in the 43rd minute.
