PEMBROKE — The Purnell Swett football team dropped its contest against Gray’s Creek 43-20 on Friday to fall to 2-7 for the season. The Rams’ performance included miscues including multiple interceptions from senior quarterback Aidyn Locklear. Defensively, they had no answer for Gray’s Creek’s offense when possession changed.
“We’ve got to stop beating ourselves,” Purnell Swett coach Josh Deese said.
Between multiple interceptions that led to points for Gray’s Creek and costly penalties, Purnell Swett had a lot of self-inflicted wounds in this game.
With this loss, that makes five straight losses for Purnell Swett, as things continue to go poorly this season. The Rams are 0-4 in the Tri-County Conference.
