I’m continuing to monitor the track of Melissa , and I don’t really know why. She’s not much of a threat to the mainland United States at this point, but she is expected to become a major hurricane sometime Sunday morning. Her winds and rain could be devastating to the island of Jamaica and southern Haiti. It all depends on how far west she moves before her forecasted track to the north/northeast.
Heavy downpours are in our forecast for Saturday. Sunday’s forecast might not be as bad as predicted. We’ll just have to wait and see what materializes on Saturday.
