BEMIDJI — Raythan Robbins waited patiently.

The Bemidji State men’s hockey junior goaltender enrolled at the school in the summer of 2023. He was the third goalie behind Mattias Sholl and Gavin Enright.

As a sophomore, he moved one slot up the depth chart, as Enright used his graduate transfer to head to St. Cloud State. Still, Robbins hung around, primarily serving as the backup goalie behind Sholl.

But on Friday night at the Sanford Center, Robbins decided he had waited long enough. The Anchorage, Alaska, native stopped 27 shots to earn his first collegiate shutout.
