It took me four years to muster up the confidence to join a gym again. I was starting to feel flat, sluggish and unhappy with my general wellbeing.
Whenever I had been in to gyms in the past, it was, speaking candidly, quite a poor effort on my part. A couple of lengths in the pool, a brisk jog on the treadmill and a few reps on a leg press would feel enough - yet leave me questioning why I never looked or felt any different.
Don't get me wrong, I knew that I was never going to walk out of the gym looking like Arnold Schwarzenegger, but I equally never felt confident enough to really put the work in.
