ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. (WBTW) -- Two people were killed and several others critically injured overnight when 13 people were shot at a large party in Robeson County, deputies said.
It happened before 3 a.m. Saturday in the area of Dixon Road and McGirt Gin Road outside of Maxton. Deputies said more than 150 ran away before authorities arrived.
Sheriff Burnis Wilkins' office said the shooting was an isolated event and that there is no current threat to the community. Multiple law enforcement agencies are involved in the investigation.
