ROBESON COUNTY, NC (WMBF) - The Robeson County Sheriff’s office along with additional law enforcement agencies are investigating a mass shooting just outside of Maxton.

Sheriff Burnis Wilkins says the shooting happened during a large party on Dixon Drive near McGirt Gin Road.

Thirteen people have reportedly been shot, 2 people have died as a result of the shooting according to Burnis.

One hundred and fifty people reportedly ran away from the scene before officers arrived.

Burnis also says there is no danger to the community as this is an isolated incident.

There is no word on any arrests or suspect information at this time.
