HOUSTON — It's a shocking story out of northeast Houston.
Investigators are looking into the death of a man who was found at around 10 p.m. Thursday on fire and hanging underneath a Houston freeway . The discovery was made under the North Loop at Kirkpatrick.
Firefighters initially responded to a call from Union Pacific for what they thought was a brush fire, but when the flames were out, they discovered the body of a man hanging from the underside of the freeway, partially burned.
Police on the scene told us it's unclear whether the man died from the hanging or the fire, but an officer at the scene also told us it seems very unlikely that the death was a suicide.
The president of the Houston Chapter of the NAACP, Bishop James Dixon, reached out to KHOU 11 voicing his concerns.
