RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Women of color impacting Virginia were honored at a gala and award ceremony on Friday evening, an event that honored 8News evening anchor Deanna Allbrittin.

Other honorees included Sheriff Antoinette Irving and Rep. Jennifer McClellan.
The 100 Women of Color event has been happening for 10 years outside of Virginia.
