SPRING HILL, Fla. (WFLA) — The Florida Highway Patrol said a road ranger truck took heavy damage Friday night when someone slammed into it on Suncoast Parkway.
At around 7:25 p.m., a road ranger was following slowly behind a vehicle pulling a trailer on Suncoast Parkway near mile marker 46. The trailer had a flat tire, and the ranger was helping get it to where a friend was waiting with a replacement.
While they were "slow rolling" on the outside shoulder, a 2025 Volkswagen Atlas was coming up behind them in the outside lane.
The car veered off the road and collided with the ranger's truck, which had its emergency equipment activated, FHP said.
The driver of the Volkswagen was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and the road ranger was not injured.
