The Salvation Army in Surrey is looking for seasonal volunteers as its annual Christmas kettle campaign kicks off at the end of November.

The campaign runs from Nov. 21 to Dec. 24, and all the money raised in Surrey will stay in Surrey and go towards the Salvation Army’s programs in the city , said community engagement specialist Peggy Leung. This includes supporting their weekly food distribution service and the community church.

“Your time at the kettle will help change lives in your community, one donation at a time,” noted the volunteer posting.

The Kettle Campaign began in 1891 in San Francisco, California, and continues worldwide today.
