BOSTON —

The Boston Police Department launched a new website , seeking the public's help with information about decades-old homicide cases.

The list features hundreds of cases, including nearly 200 within the last decade.

The oldest case dates back to March 1, 1963, when 32-year-old James Smith was shot and killed at 29 Wyoming St. in Roxbury.

Dozens of other cases are featured, along with the hotline to call with information and resources for grieving families.

"Our greatest resource in solving homicide cases is information from witnesses, family, friends and the community," Boston police wrote.
