SEDONA, AZ (AZFamily) — Authorities are investigating after human remains were recovered in northern Arizona on Saturday morning.

Coconino County Sheriff’s deputies found the partial human remains just northwest of Sedona in the Secret Mountain area .

Investigators say the gender and identity of the victim have not been determined. They will be submitted for DNA analysis to be identified.

Deputies say there is no known threat to public safety.
