HUBBARD, Ohio - The City of Hubbard has officially renamed the bridge on North Main Street the First Responders Bridge. As one of the most heavily traveled areas, officials wanted to symbolize how first responders bridge the gap between trauma and normalcy.
“It’s not just concrete and asphalt, it's an honor for those who unselfishly serve and put themselves in harm's way to serve others,” Chief Robert Thompson of the Hubbard City Police Department said.
The tribute is among many bridges renamed in the city but marks the first specifically for those responding to emergencies.
The honor is not just for those on the front like but includes everyone that jumps into action including dispatchers.
