HINSDALE COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - Crews rescued two stranded people Thursday after their Jeep got stuck on a mountain.
According to Hinsdale County Search and Rescue (HCSAR), crews were called at 6:50 p.m. to assist San Juan and Ouray Counties in rescuing stranded motorists west of the summit of Engineer Pass.
HCSAR said teams made contact with the stranded victims by 9:45 p.m. The two were a father and son duo visiting from Florida.
The victims’ Jeep had become stuck in about two feet of snow around 4 p.m. as weather conditions worsened. Crews were able to safely get the two off the mountain.
