The Studio is a spot-on satire of the Hollywood film industry, but the show also carries an important lesson for the very executives it mocks. Seth Rogen’s Matt Remick is, as Ted Sarandos puts it, a bean counter. But he loves movies with all his heart, and he wants to feel like an important part of the filmmaking process.

The series has a lot of fun pointing out how little Matt actually contributes to the cinematic arts. When he shows up on the trickiest day of Sarah Polley’s shoot , he just gets in the way and stresses everybody out. But Matt isn’t totally useless. He has one claim to fame that he likes to pull out of the bag to impress people.
