YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) -- A local cat sanctuary put a spooky spin on their adoption efforts on Saturday.
Furrever and After Cat Sanctuary hosted its first Whiskerween adoption event. The sanctuary invited the community to shop from dozens of vendors and apply to adopt, foster and volunteer with the sanctuary.
The event was hosted at The Wickyards in Youngstown, and there were kittens on sale for attendees to meet.
"We wanted to do some sort of Halloween type of event, and we thought this venue would be perfect because of the history and everything. So, we kind of just got the idea and went with it," said Leah Beatty, founder of the Furrever and After Cat Sanctuary.
