Winnipeg’s Team Braden Calvert staved off elimination in the best-of-three final of the 2025 Home Hardware Canadian Curling Pre-Trials with an 8-5 win over Team Jordon McDonald (Winnipeg) Saturday afternoon at the Andrew H. McCain Arena.
With the series now tied at one a piece, the lone men’s berth available for the 2025 Montana’s Trials, presented by Connect Hearing, will come down to a sudden-death winner-take-all contest Sunday (10 a.m. ET, TSN2).
“Feels good,” said skip Calvert. “Had to rebound after yesterday. We got away from our game plan and kind of got into a hitting matchup with them yesterday. We had to slow things down and get a little bit more junk out there. It’s a battle and we hung with it.”
