EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The Indiana State Police took part in the DEA’s national “Prescription Drug Take Back Day.”
According to a press release, the initiative helps prevent prescription drug abuse and theft through proper disposal of prescription drugs.
In Evansville, the I-S-P collected medications at its regional post.
People turned in plastic bags and even boxes filled with prescription bottles.
Officers even went out to people’s cars to make the process easy.
A retired pharmacist told 14 News turning in medicines you’re no longer using keeps everyone safe.
