All eyes on the Caribbean... Hurricane Melissa has underwent rapid intensification over the weekend, now packing sustained winds near 100 mph and continuing to strengthen over exceptionally warm waters.

Melissa is expected to continue its rapid intensification as it turns towards Jamaica and eastern Cuba over the next 48 hours. Category 4 or 5 strength is expected as Hurricane Melissa approaches Jamaica. Haiti's southern peninsula and eastern Cuba is also in line for dangerous flooding, with some rain totals over the few days reach over two feet. This is likely to cause catastrophic flash flooding and mudslides.
