More than four million pounds of processed chicken are being voluntarily recalled due to possible metal contamination.
Hormel Foods issued a notice Saturday, Oct. 25, recalling 215,258 cases, or 4,874,815 pounds of its Hormel Fire Braised chicken products purchased by food service providers throughout the U.S.
Products marked with the establishment number P-223 may contain extraneous metal material, the notice states.
The products being recalled are only available to food service providers and cannot be bought directly by consumers.
No illnesses or injuries have been reported in association with this recall.
All foodservice providers that have received the affected product have been notified.
Hormel Foods is issuing the recall to ensure customers are aware of the issue. The recall is
