The National Weather Service issued a report at 5:42 p.m. on Saturday for strong thunderstorms until 6:15 p.m. for Lower Columbia River.

The storms are anticipated to bring pea-sized hail (0.25 inches) and wind gusts of up to 50 mph.

"At 5:42 p.m., Doppler radar tracked strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Pigeon Springs to near Woodland. Movement was east at 25 mph," explains the weather service. "Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible."

The alert is for Pigeon Springs and Ariel. This includes the following highways: Interstate 5 between mile markers 25 and 26. State Route 503 between mile markers 39 and 51.
