ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Lobo football team had arguably its most complete performance of the season on Saturday afternoon. UNM scored in all three phases en-route to a 33-14 victory over Bronco Mendenhall and the Utah State Aggies.
While the Lobos opening drive stalled out, a punt forced Utah State to be backed up on its own 5 yard line. After a quick three-and-out, the Aggies didn't have much room to punt, and DJ McKinney returned it for a touchdown.
Later in the first quarter, Utah State quarterback Bryson Barnes was picked off in the endzone by UNM freshman CJ McBean. It was the first Lobos takeaway in 14 quarters of play.
The Lobos continued to dominate in the second quarter with three scoring drives, two for touchdowns, and a defensive safety.
Thanks to the safety and punt-
