ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Police Department said an APD unit and another vehicle collided on Saturday on Coors Blvd., south of Irving Blvd. According to APD, a Mercedes SUV was trying to cross three lanes of traffic on Coors after other vehicles had stopped to let the SUV through. The APD vehicle was traveling in the fourth lane and struck the Mercedes as it crossed. The collision caused the Mercedes to flip on its roof.
The driver and passenger of the SUV had non-life-threatening injuries. The passenger was holding a child in her arms during the crash. APD said the child did not appear to be injured. All three were taken to the hospital for observation. The APD officer had scratches and a leg injury. He was taken to the hospital as well.
