LOUISVILLE, Ky. — It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and survivors and supporters filled Louisville Slugger Field on Saturday for the annual “More Than Pink Walk.”
The event celebrated survivors’ strength while raising awareness and money for breast cancer research.
According to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, the world’s leading breast cancer organization, more than 4,200 Kentuckians will be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2025 and more than 650 are expected to lose their lives to the disease.
Since the first walk in 2018, participants across the U.S. have raised more than $60 million to support breast cancer causes.
To help combat early detection, United Healthcare brought its Mobile Mammogram Bus to the event, offering tours and information on how to schedule screenings.
