I want to motivate you to do for your descendants what I did for you and yours, but sooner in your life.

As I thought about my childhood, my longing grew deeper, especially missing out on experiences with my grandparents.

Sadly, three of my four grandparents passed away before I was even born, and my father’s mother died before I turned four. I remember her as a sorrowful woman in a black coat, mourning her husband Tomas, my paternal grandfather, as she walked to our home on Lexington Avenue. I told my brother Dick, “That’s our grandmother.”
