When Leanne Pompeani crossed the finish line to claim her third Burnie 10 in four years, she was slightly disappointed.
That's because the 29-year-old finished 0.6 seconds outside the female course record of 31:40, which she set one year ago.
Pompeani reached the halfway mark in 15:46 on Sunday, October 26, before going on to cross the finish line in 31:46 to claim back-to-back victories and the Australian 10-kilometre Road Running Championships .
"Back-to-back, I can't complain. I can complain about [finishing] outside the course record, but that's alright," Pompeani said.
