For most of the way Saturday against South Carolina , Alabama football played terribly. It was the Crimson Tide’s standard performance against an unranked underdog, at least in the Kalen DeBoer era.
The offense stagnated. The defense was better, but gave up enough big plays to have the Gamecocks up late in the fourth quarter.
Then, UA came back. The Crimson Tide scored a touchdown and two-point conversion to tie, then stripped the ball from Gamecock quarterback LaNorris Sellers, then scored the game-winner.
Upset averted. Afterward, DeBoer described what he was most proud of.
