BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Many students said LSU’s extra security measures are overboard following changes implemented after a campus shooting.
Though rain may have kept some fans home Saturday, local law enforcement agencies prepared for big crowds with additional officers, equipment, and technology to prevent a repeat of what happened at the last LSU home game. Two people were shot on campus, and a 16-year-old was arrested.
LSU fenced off Unity Field after the shooting, which occurred on the other side of campus. The university also increased enforcement of disorderly conduct and firearms violations on campus, but Unity Field was the only tailgating spot affected.
