BT plans for next-generation telephone boxes in these areas in Coventry have been refused. CoventryLive reported that the telecommunications giant wanted to install its new 'street hubs' in 13 parts of the city.
It would have seen old telephone boxes replaced with hubs, which boast 5G connectivity, enable free public WiFi, and give people the chance to charge their devices while out and about. But Coventry City Council has refused a number of the applications.
This includes at Cross Cheaping, Little Park Street, Gosford Street, Far Gosford Street, Remembrance Road, Belgrade Square, Foleshill Road, Priory Place, Binley Road, Belgrade Plaza, Jordan Well, and Fairfax Street.
