A report from the National Weather Service was issued on Sunday at 6:40 a.m. for dense fog until 9 a.m. for Westmoreland Ridges, Fayette Ridges and Higher Elevations of Indiana as well as Mercer, Venango, Forest, Lawrence, Butler, Clarion, Jefferson, Beaver, Allegheny, Armstrong, Washington, Greene, Westmoreland, Fayette and Indiana counties.
"River valley fog is ongoing across much of the area this morning, with visibilities as low as one-quarter of a mile or less in localized areas. Motorists should be prepared for rapidly fluctuating and locally poor visibility, especially along area rivers and their tributaries. Visibility will gradually improve as fog lifts by mid-morning," says the weather service.
