Father Charleston Wilson, rector of Church of the Redeemer in downtown Sarasota, was recently appointed to the Board of Trustees of the American Friends of the Anglican Centre in Rome, Italy.
The appointment was made by the Most Rev. Sean Rowe, the Presiding Bishop of The Episcopal Church.
The Centre serves as the embassy of the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Anglican Communion to the Vatican. It acts as the embodiment of the Anglican Communion’s commitment to Christian unity as part of the catholic and apostolic Church of Jesus Christ. The Centre is a nonprofit that supports the official ecumenical dialogue between the Anglican and Roman communions. It is also a place of worship, study, and hospitality.
