KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating an overnight shooting involving a Buckner police officer.
Investigators said the officer chased a vehicle westbound on US-24 Highway near Hoover Road shortly after 1 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26.
The officer later told investigators that the suspect crossed onto the wrong side of the highway. At one point during the chase the suspect hit the officer’s patrol vehicle.
That is when the officer told investigators he fired his gun at the suspect’s vehicle.

A bullet hit the suspect and was transported to a hospital. Investigators said the suspect is expected to survive the injury.
The officer was not injured in the incident.
