LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - It’s Hal-LOU-ween in the city! The annual festival drew crowds of visitors of all ages to celebrate the season in Louisville.
This year’s event was moved from its typical Highlands location to a new venue, taking over a stretch of Main Street in the cultural and arts district of NuLu.
Organizers tell WAVE the decision was made in part to accommodate larger crowds.
“We don’t have an accurate count yet, but our guess is about 5,000 people showed up today, many in costume,” production manager Brent Rogers said.
The day-long lineup of events featured live music and vendors setting up shop along Main Street. A number of businesses in NuLu also treated guests to extended shopping hours, specials, and ‘after parties’ to keep the festivities going through the nighttime
