COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio officials gave an update Friday regarding Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits amid the federal government shutdown .
According to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, the U.S. Department of Agriculture has confirmed SNAP recipients will be able to access their existing benefits after Oct. 31.
"While the issuance of November benefits may be impacted if a federal shutdown continues, any remaining benefits can be accessed," the agency said on its website .
ODJFS added SNAP recipients may not receive their November benefits as normally scheduled if the federal government shutdown continues.
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families benefits are not currently affected, according to ODJFS.
