Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday said law and order in the state has improved since his government took office in November 2005, adding that being a resident of Bihar is now a matter of pride.

In a post on X, Nitish Kumar said that before 2005, crime and corruption were widespread in the state. He said his government prioritized restoring law and order and adopted a policy of zero tolerance for crime and corruption. "Now, there is no atmosphere of fear or terror in the state. Now, being Bihari is a matter of pride for the people of the state," he wrote.
