The idea for the Sugar Cookie Open came when former Navy Seal Jared Ogden wanted to share some of his military history with the community.
“I’m a former Seal, Navy Seal and we would make sugar cookies in our training, which was hitting the surf, getting completely wet and then rolling around in the soft, white sands and you would just cover yourself and you would come out looking like a sugar cookie and it was absolutely miserable. So the Sugar Cookie Open is a way to share that part of my military history with the local community,” Odgen said.
