New Delhi: In a huge blow for India ahead of their all-important semi-final clash against seven-time champions Australia in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025, opening batter Pratika Rawal suffered a nasty injury on Sunday. Pratika twisted her ankle badly while fielding during India’s final group-stage clash against Bangladesh at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai.

Pratika slipped while trying to stop the ball at the boundary line during the 21st over of Bangladesh’s innings in the rain-affected clash. Her right foot got stuck on the ground, leading to her ankle getting twisted badly as she left the ground limping. A stretcher was being brought on for Pratika, who stayed on the ground for a while after going down and looked in immense pain.
