Louisiana State University Head Coach Brian Kelly during the fourth quarter at Memorial Stadium in Clemson, S.C. Saturday, August 30, 2025.

The season started on a high note for the LSU Tigers, with a win over the No. 4 Clemson Tigers in the first game of the season. However, things have gone downhill since, and after a loss to the Texas A&M Aggies in Week 9, Brian Kelly is officially feeling his seat heating up.

With losses in three of the last four games, Tigers fans are questioning whether or not they can part ways with Kelly, but it appears that what's more likely to happen is a change at the coordinator positions and elsewhere on the coaching staff.

According to a report from On3's Pete Nakos, there is an expectation that "coaching changes" could take place in Baton Rouge as early as Sunday afternoon.

"With a buyout north of $53 million and six years remaining on his contract, the Tigers will see how the final stretch of games goes," Nakos writes. "Sources have told On3, however, that coaching staff changes could come as soon as Sunday afternoon."

The offense has been the main issue for LSU thus far, ranking 83rd in the nation in yards per game, with 366.6. The Tigers also have the No. 99-ranked scoring offense in the nation, scoring just 21.1 points per game this season. Those numbers could result in the ousting of offensive coordinator Joe Sloan, who has been at LSU since 2022, but has been serving as the OC since 2024.

We will wait and see what changes, if any, end up coming, but it's clear at this point that something needs to be done down in Baton Rouge to try and turn this season around.
