The Bruins freed up a roster spot by placing Hampus Lindholm on injured reserve and then called up left-shot defenseman Jonathan Aspirot on Sunday.
Lindholm’s IR designation is retroactive to October 9, so he can be activated at any point. That’s not to say his absence from the lineup with his lower body injury is not concerning. He left the lineup in the second game of the season, returned for one game in Colorado on October 18 and has not been in the lineup since, despite practicing with the team. The team has said the injury is not related to his surgically repaired knee, which ended his 2024-25 season on November 12 last year.
It seemed doubtful that he would have returned to the lineup for the B’s game in Ottawa in Monday, which is the first half of a back-to-back. The B’s host the
