FOXBOROUGH — As the Browns ran out to a 7-3 lead at Gillette Stadium, they didn’t need to worry about Christian Barmore.
The standout defensive tackle was glued to the sideline for the entire first quarter. Barmore’s first snaps of the game didn’t come until Cleveland’s third drive.
The 26-year-old wasn’t listed on the injury report and had played 65% of the defensive snaps in New England’s first seven games, so his absence was a surprise. The Patriots signed Barmore to a four-year, $84 million contract extension in April of 2024.
With Barmore sidelined, Khyiris Tonga and rookie Joshua Farmer saw more snaps on the interior defensive line.
