Michigan gained four spots in the new Associated Press college football poll, rising to No. 21 from No. 25 on Sunday.

The Wolverines (6-2, 4-1 Big Ten) traveled to East Lansing and picked up a 31-20 win over Michigan State on Saturday night. They return to action this coming Saturday with a home game against Purdue at 7 p.m.

The Spartans (3-5, 0-5) are at Minnesota on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

The Big 12 has five teams in the Top 25 for the first time this season, Vanderbilt earned its highest ranking in 88 years and LSU dropped out following its third loss in four games.
