INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Colts anticipate Anthony Richardson Sr. being available at some point this season after he underwent surgery on Monday to repair a fractured orbital bone.
The surgery was reported by NFL Network. Coach Shane Steichen was asked about Richardson’s status on Friday – he was placed on the injured reserve list Oct. 13 – but that was before it was known publicly he had had surgery.
“I know he’s just recovering right now,’’ he said.
A source with knowledge of the situation said the Colts are hoping to get Richardson back this season.
The No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 draft fractured the orbital bone during his pre-game warmup prior to the Arizona Cardinals game, while he was working with a resistance band.
