PIERCE CITY, Mo. — Two individuals have died following a residential fire in Pierce City on Saturday, October 25.

According to a Lawrence County Sheriff's Office social media post, officials from the Pierce City Fire Department, Pierce City Police Department, the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office responded to a house on 303 North Myrtle Street around 8:37 p.m., where the home was found engulfed in flames.

Neighboring fire departments of Sarcoxie, Purdy and Freistatt aided the firefighters on the scene to help contain the fire, the post says.

Following an assessment of the residence, crews found two dead, unidentified individuals.

The Missouri State Fire Marshal and the Lawrence County Coroner later arrived on the scene to recover the individuals.
