No. 1 seed Jannik Sinner of Italy went the distance with German second seed Alexander Zverev and delivered a 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 victory to win the Erste Bank Open on Sunday in Vienna, Austria.
Sinner brushed off the first-set defeat by racing out to a 3-0 lead in the second set. In the third, neither player broke serve until the 11th game, when Zverev lost a 40-30 lead and Sinner broke him on his first opportunity.
The World No. 2 clinched his second ATP 500 title in as many months, following the China Open in September, and won his fourth tournament of the year. Sinner also won in Vienna in 2023.

Brazilian 19-year-old Joao Fonseca took down eighth seed Alejandro Davidovich Fokina of Spain 6-3, 6-4, to clinch his second tour-level title in Basel, Switzerland.
