A man's decision to take drugs to cope with work stress culminated in a drug-induced psychosis where he headbutted a police officer, a court has heard.
Shawn William Bailey, 29, of Ewin Street, Blayney pleaded guilty in Blayney Local Court on October 20, 2025 to hindering/resisting police.
During the early hours of August 19, Bailey took a combination of alcohol, cannabis, and amphetamines at his Ewin Street home in Blayney, court documents state.
Around 3am, a woman at the house called triple-zero for an ambulance with Bailey experiencing paranoia.
When police and paramedics arrived, Bailey refused to cooperate and had to be escorted to the ambulance and strapped to a bed.
Arguing he "knew his rights," Bailey unbuckled his seatbelt and tried to get out.
