BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Birmingham Police are investigating a homicide after a man was shot and killed this weekend.

According to Birmingham Police, officers were called to the 900 block of Erie Street in the Wylam Community on a report of person shot at 7:09 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26.

When officers arrived, they found 61-year-old Vincento Davis sitting unresponsive inside a vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Birmingham and Fire Rescue personnel arrived to the location and pronounced Davis dead at the scene.

Authorities say early investigations indicate that a person who lives in the Wylam community heard gunshots and saw Davis down before calling 911 for help.

At this time, there is no one in custody.
