Lincoln University has cancelled classes on Monday, Oct. 27 after a deadly weekend shooting left one person dead and six others injured.
The Lincoln University Office of the President posted a statement on Instagram around 3 p.m. on Sunday, the first official word from the institution.
The statement said classes are cancelled “for a day of healing and reflection,” and that the University will remain open to provide support for students. A moment of reflection, connection and healing will be held at noon on Monday in the Historic District of campus, between Vail and Amos Hall.
The University said it is cooperating with law enforcement and the Chester County District Attorney’s Office as they investigate the shooting, which it condemned as “senseless violence.”
