BLOOMINGTON – There is a new team alone atop the Big Ten standings.
Following No. 2 Indiana’s 56-6 demolition of an overmatched UCLA team on Saturday at Memorial Stadium, the Hoosiers (8-0) are the lone team at 5-0 in conference play. They nosed in front of No. 1 Ohio State, which remained at 4-0 after a bye in Week 8.
There is a new team, too, atop ESPN’s SP+ computer rankings for the entire country. Indiana’s victory pushed the Hoosiers up from third, past Oregon and Ohio State and into the No. 1 spot. The Hoosiers rank No. 6 in SP+ on offense, No. 2 on defense and No. 11 on special teams, the only team in the nation to rank in the top 15 in all three.
