WALLINGFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - Over 300,000 Connecticut families are worrying about where their next meals will come from as the government shutdown impacts the distribution of SNAP benefits.

Workers at Connecticut Foodshare have been working around the clock. They want to help families who may lose their SNAP benefits next week and people who are already being impacted by the government shutdown.

Since the start of the shutdown on Oct. 1, Connecticut Foodshare has been preparing for the worst. The organization got an additional one million dollars approved to buy more food and has been helping federal workers who are not getting paid.
